30 Hour Famine Update
Mar 9th, 2010
What an amazing weekend we had!! D’WAVE had 114 students (88 St. Andrew’s & 23 Northminster) plus 27 adult and college tribe leaders and lots of parents and volunteers pull together and participate in the 30 Hour Famine, February 6th and 7th. The students broke up into “tribes” and while traveling to various stations they made 200 lunches for homeless Tuscon families, put together 200 hygiene bags for local shelters, fed the One Step Beyond homeless veterans, and prepared a meal for 5 homeless shelters. To wrap up their day the students traveled to the homeless shelters where they served dinner to the families, and entertained them with worship songs and a K’DEO puppet show. Our amazing youth did all of this local volunteer work while they themselves fasted for 30 hours…..all to raise money for World Vision and for additional local mission work! Congratulations to everyone who participated in this fulfilling weekend. Your efforts raised $6500 so far.
